As a mom of three athletic girls we have accumulated a ton of t-shirts from various sports teams, tournaments and school functions. Additionally, the number of sports jerseys is equally impressive. I started making t-shirt quilts when my oldest daughter was in high school. A number of her friends played multiple sports and wanted to put them into a quilt to take with them to college.
I prefer quilts that are not uniform in style and shape and depending on the person will coordinate the fabric to the theme of the sports or to a particular team color or favorite color. These quilts are fun to make and even more fun to give as each person will relive and reflect on the events that the shirts represent.
